Fall field hockey clinic, league dates announced
Girls’ Field Hockey Clinic
The clinic is for Moorestown girls in grades third to sixth and will be held on Wednesdays from 4:45 to 6 p.m. for third- and fourth-graders; from 3:45 to 5 p.m. for fifth- and sixth-graders.
Programs will run from Sept. 11 to Oct. 23 at Wesley Bishop Field.
The program stresses fundamentals and basic skills of field hockey in a low-key instructional atmosphere.
The cost for the eight-week program, for those not involved in the limited travel program, is $50 for residents and $70 for nonresident Moorestown school children. Field Hockey approved goggles must be worn and a mouth guard are mandatory. Registration deadline is Aug. 30.
Intramural Girls’ Field Hockey Leagues
The league is for Moorestown girls in first to sixth grade. League games are played on Sundays from Sept. 15 to Nov. 3 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. for first- and second-graders; and from 12:30 to 2 p.m. or 2 to 3:30 p.m. for third- to sixth-graders. Games will be held at the Wesley Bishop Park.
The cost for the league is $35 for residents and $55 for nonresident Moorestown school children.
Field Hockey approved goggles must be worn. Registration deadline is Aug. 30.
Girls’ Limited Travel Field Hockey Leagues
The girls’ limited travel teams are for fifth- to eight-grade students (while space allows). Leagues are broken into age groups.
Home games will be played and practices will be held at Wesley Bishop Park on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 to 5 p.m. Away games will be played in area towns.
Games will be on Sundays between noon and 7 p.m.
The fees, which include Wednesday clinics, for fifth and sixth grade players is $110 for residents and $130 for nonresidents attending school in Moorestown $110.00. The cost for the seventh and eight grade players is $60 for residents and $80 for nonresidents attending schools in Moorestown. Field hockey approved goggles must be worn.
