The Medford Education Foundation is seeking new members to serve on its board of trustees.
The Medford Education Foundation is a non-profit 501 © (3) entity, which sponsors events and programs to raise money in support of the Medford Township Public Schools.
Since 2004, the Medford Education Foundation has raised nearly $600,000 for the benefit of the public schools and students for educational tools, such as mobile laptop laboratories, educational grants to teachers, STEM education initiatives, technology upgrades and the purchase of independent reading books.
The Board of Trustees of the Medford Education Foundation is comprised of parents, community residents, business owners and educators who serve without compensation and meet monthly to discuss fundraising initiatives and provide feedback for the organization.
Interested applicants should be Medford residents who are committed to ensuring that the K-8 students of the Medford Township School District receive a high-quality educational experience.
Applicants should email a letter of interest containing a brief summary of personal experience to the Foundation at [email protected].
The Foundation sponsors five events each year, including the popular Teacher vs. Teacher Basketball “Throwdown” in October, “Dine Out for Education” night in February, an annual golf outing and dinner in May, a Family Pool Party and BBQ in June and a Pond Tour in July.
These events allow the foundation to fund its Education Grant Program and make other significant donations to the Medford Township School District.
“We look forward to presenting more events like these,” said Tommie Ann Gibney, president of the Medford Education Foundation. “By sponsoring family-friendly activities like these, it is our goal not only to raise funds for the benefit of the Medford Township Public schools, but also to foster community spirit within Medford Township.”
