Burlington County freeholders announce environmental health photo winners

The Burlington County Freeholders announced six winners in their Environmental Health Photo Contest. Several dozen photos were submitted and all of the entrees were on display during Earth Fair on Saturday, June 9.

“We congratulate everyone who participated in this contest and applaud them for their efforts to raise awareness about our impact on the environment,” freeholder director Joe Donnelly said.

Jaclyn Ziegler was awarded the People’s Choice Award for her photo of a tree taken in Laurel Acres Park, Mt. Laurel.

Yuri Nilkolyukin won the Senior Amateur category for her photo of a Great Blue Heron found in Moorestown’s Strawbridge Lake.

Cheryl Painter of Burlington won the Adult Amateur with her photo of the world painted on the stomach of a pregnant woman entitled “New Birth.”

Rebecca Padgett won the 16–18 age group for her photo of a bee taken in Marlton.

Meghan Schiereck won the 11–15 age group for her picture of a blade of grass with some leftover dew held up against the cloudy sky.

Kate Rose Cullinan won the 10 year old and under group for her picture of a butterfly sitting atop a sunflower.

All of the entries are being showcased on the Burlington County Health Department’s website at http://www.co.burlington.nj.us/Pages/ViewDepartment.aspx?did=37
