Freeholder Director Joe Donnelly announced he will convene a special ceremonial meeting on Wednesday, April 17 for freeholders to consider the creation of a “Burlington County Courage Award.”
Donnelly said that the official board action would be followed by a presentation to Loretta O’Donnell of Mount Laurel, a three-year survivor of cancer and former county government public information officer.
The director said he would propose that the new award be named after O’Donnell who, he said, “has not only faced incredible odds and battled back with great courage, she has evolved as a veritable one-woman support group for others in her situation.”
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at Burlington County College’s Culinary Arts Center in Mount Holly.
