Temple Emanuel hosts several events in coming days

Adults’ category:

On Friday, Dec. 14 at 6:30 and 8 p.m., come out for the Shabbat Hanukkah Dinner and Service with Israel Blessing and Kol Emanuel and Shirei HaYeladim Choirs. Come enjoy a yummy chicken dinner with latkes, then listen to storytelling, do crafts and sing-a-long as we greet the new week through prayer and lively performances by our adult and child choirs. On Saturday, Dec. 15, from 1 to 2 p.m., come out for the Just for You Hanukkah Service and Celebration. Please join the clergy and extended family of Temple Emanuel and the Katz JCC ACHaD Department for a warm, inviting, musical and interactive worship experience. This Hanukkah service is designed to be accessible and sensitive to a variety of needs. There will be healthy snacks available — gelt, too! Services will be interpreted into Sign Language as we share prayers, Torah, spin dreidels and embrace the light of the festival together. It is open to the entire community (members and non-members). On Saturday, Dec. 15 from 5 to 7 p.m., come out for the Family Hanukkah Celebration. Please join us for our Havdalah service, fun Israeli puppet show, pizza dinner and interactive Hanukkah storytelling with Audrey Litto. The cost is $5 per person (over age 1.) On Monday, Dec. 31, from noon to 3 p.m., come out for the “It’s Midnight Somewhere” New Year’s Eve Day Seniors Party. Ring in 2013 early with the Henry Raich Seniors Group. Enjoy a fun afternoon of socializing and noshing on bagels, cheeses, kugels, assorted desserts and sweets! Open to all; there is a nominal $5 charge per person. On Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at 6, 7 and 8 p.m., attend the Come As You Are Shabbat Service, Wine and Cheese Reception as well as the Shabbat Evening Service with the Cherry Hill High School East Singers. Come and enjoy a variety of sustaining ways to celebrate the new week with our temple’s warm, welcoming and diverse congregation. The night is open to the entire metro community; a wonderful evening to meet and make new friends, sip, nosh. Kids’ category:

On Friday, Dec. 21 at 6 and 7 p.m., come out for the Tot Shabbat Pot Luck Dinner and Service. Come eat, pray, have fun, be prepared to sing, dance and have the time of your life with your little ones in this lively half-hour kid-friendly service. The night is open to the community, so bring your friends. We provide the chicken; you bring the rest (sides/dessert). On Saturday, Dec. 22 at 9:15 a.m., join the temple for a Mini-Minyan Breakfast and Service. Kids too old for Tot Shabbat? Enjoy a fun meal and our interactive worship experience for children in grades K-3 features songs, prayer instruction, arts and crafts and more. Grandparents are encouraged! Open to the community.
