Towns helping towns

Evesham Township Mayor Randy Brown has so often stressed the importance of fellowship and community.

These ideals, rooted in Evesham Township, have become even more important when we are confronted with seemingly insurmountable challenges, like those brought by Hurricane Sandy. During times like this, it can be difficult to see how one community can help in the face of widespread destruction, but there are ways that we can provide support to those in need.

As thousands of New Jersey families remain displaced from their homes as a result of Hurricane Sandy, Mayor Brown and Evesham School Board President Sandy Student are spearheading a township wide effort to collect everyday items to assist our neighbors. Brown and Student have created “Evesham Cares.” Through township partnerships with the Evesham School District, Evesham Fire Department, Evesham Police Department, Evesham MUA and Ravitz family ShopRites, we will be accepting donated items at 14 locations throughout Evesham Township.

Donations may be made Monday, Nov. 5 through Thursday, Nov. 8. The collected items will be delivered to designated New Jersey municipalities this Friday, Nov. 9.

We request the donations be new or gently used.
