BREAKING: Local LukOil station protests rising gas prices

With gas prices on the rise, the Mt. Laurel LukOil, located at the corner of Route 73 and Fellowship Road, took matters into their own hands today.

With prices much higher than their competitors, owner Kay Kezbari was looking for a solution when he raised the price per gallon to $9.99.

There is a necessity for reasonable prices, he explained, and the company needs to realize that and work with them.

Several other area LukOils have drastically raised their prices today as well.

According to a statement released yesterday by AAA, gas prices in South Jersey have increased 10 cents since Labor Day to $3.75 per gallon.

At the LukOil, many people stopped in throughout the day and showed their support, said Kezbari.

“We’re with you guys,” was the typical customer response, he said.

There was no response to the owners by their parent company, LukOil North America, as of 5:30 p.m.
