Voorhees man dies as a result of stabbing injuries

Outgoing Voorhees Township Police Chief Keith Hummel, along with Camden County Prosecutor Warren Faulk announced today that a Voorhees man stabbed earlier this month had died.

Michael Taylor, 52, of Voorhees, died at Cooper Hospital in Camden at 9 p.m. on June 24, where he had been treated since being stabbed earlier in the month. He entered the hospital in critical condition on June 5.

On June 6, Taylor was allegedly stabbed by his upstairs neighbor, 62-year-old David Giordano, on the 3000 block of Sherry Court in Voorhees, not far from the intersection of Burnt Mill Road and White Horse Road.

Giordano allegedly dumped water onto Taylor’s exotic pet birds, which he kept on the porch. Taylor was stabbed multiple times after confronting Giordano.

Giordano surrendered to the Voorhees Police Department on June 26.

Giordano, who was initially charged with attempted murder, is expected to be charged with murder, said Jason Laughlin, a spokesman for the county prosecutor’s office.

Giordano appeared in court on June 26 and was ordered held on $650,000 bail.
