Cops: Alleged jewelry thief turned himself in

On June 25 a resident of Butler Court reported that a pink sapphire tennis bracelet was stolen from her residence. She also advised that sometime in the past six to eight months a necklace and diamond pendant was stolen from her residence. The total value of the stolen jewelry was estimated to be $5,000.

The investigation revealed that Mark Tonelli was at the residence on June 25 and on November 23, 2010 while employed by Magic Window Cleaning Company. As the result of a thorough investigation, Detectives were able to identify Tonelli as having sold a necklace and diamond pendant to an area pawn shop, which was later positively identified as being stolen from the victim.

On July 13 a warrant was issued charging Tonelli with theft of the jewelry. Bail was set at $50,000. On July 14 at approximately 11:30 a.m., Tonelli surrendered himself to the Washington Township Police and posted the required bail. He was processed by Medford Police and released pending an appearance in Burlington County Superior Court.

Magic Window Cleaning Company is located in Sewell and is known to operate in Burlington, Gloucester, and Camden counties. Anyone who may have information relative to this investigation should contact the Medford Police Criminal Investigative Bureau at 609–654–7375 or their local police department.
