During a breezy March weekend, dozens of fearless young girls and women took to the skies with Freeflight Aviation, as part of Women of Aviation’s Fly It Forward event at the Flying W Airport in Medford.
Freeflight Aviation’s member pilots donated their time and took over 27 non-pilot females on their introductory flights. Pennsylvania’s Super Miss BreAnna Herron, a local Brownie troop, and the Camden County Youth Group also participated in the event. Those who chose not to fly were able to tour participating aircraft and watch as others climbed upward into the sky.
On May 21, Freeflight Aviation will be celebrating International Learn to Fly Day at the Flying W Airport. Aircraft from Freeflight Aviation and Aero Prep will be on display, with one-hour introductory flights in Cessna, Piper and Diamond aircraft being offered.
Aircraft owners, pilots and flight instructors will be available to answer questions about flight. Visitors can also visit the Runway Café for breakfast or lunch, and enjoy the view of aircraft taxing by or departing the runway.
