The Corner contest deadline March 4

Young adult books, teens and video technology come together in this latest contest offered by The Corner at the M. Allan Vogelson Library in Voorhees.

In the style of book trailers produced by publishers and authors that are pervasive on YouTube and other web venues, the library is challenging local teens to create their own videos promoting their favorite young adult books.

The Camden County Library’s Young Adult Book Trailer Contest is accepting submissions until Friday, March 4.

The competition is open to anyone between the ages of 12 and 18 or currently enrolled in sixth through 12th grade.

Videos must be suitable for an audience of all ages, including children. A piece can be anywhere from 30 seconds to three minutes in length and all of the crew members creating the entry must be between 12 and 18 years old. The contest is free and multiple submissions are welcome.

Videos need to be submitted in DVD format along with an official entry form signed by a parent or guardian in the case of contestants under 18 years old.

Entry forms can be picked up in person at the Youth Services desk of the Vogelson Branch library located on Laurel Rd. across from the Voorhees Town Center (formerly the Echelon Mall) or by e-mailing Christen Orbanus at [email protected] .

Video submissions in DVD format with the completed entry form may be dropped off at the Youth Services desk or mailed to: M. Allan Vogelson Branch, Camden County Library System, 203 Laurel Road, Voorhees, NJ 08043, ATTN: Christen Orbanus (Teen Librarian), Camden County Library’s Young Adult Book Trailer Video Contest. All submissions will posted on the library’s YouTube page at www.youtube.com/CCLTeens.

Remember, the deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, March 4.
