Residents, veterans and all members of the community are invited to pay tribute to returning township veterans as well as all living or fallen soldiers who have ever served our country with the armed forces, during a Veteran’s Day ceremony on Nov. 10.
The ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. and will take place at the township’s Veteran’s Commemorative Brick Walkway.
Wednesday’s ceremony will include the dedication of commemorative bricks, which have been purchased by families and friends of soldiers. There will also be a prayer and speeches from members of council.
The Veteran’s Walkway, located in front of the municipal building, is comprised of bricks that contain the etched name and dedication text of a friend or loved one, who currently serves or has served in the military.
In order to have a brick placed on the walkway, the person being honored must be a resident of Evesham, or, the person who purchases the brick must be a resident of Evesham.
Bricks may be purchased for $50 and each may contain up to three lines of text with no more than 13 characters and spaces in each line, according to the township’s Web site. The township is collecting notes for hospitalized veterans. Anyone wishing to send a note to a veteran or purchase bricks for the township’s Veteran’s Commemorative Brick Walkway may contact Director of Senior Services and Community Outreach Monica Vandenberg, at 856–985–9792 ext.1 or e-mail [email protected].
