Candlelight Night

Candles, cookies and community spirit are on tap as the Moorestown Business Association hosts Candlelight Night, the colonial town’s traditional kickoff to the holiday shopping season.

Families will stroll Moorestown’s Main Street from 6 to 9 pm on Friday, Nov. 6, stopping in candlelit stores, chatting with neighbors and listening to cheerful sounds of the season. Main Street will be closed for vehicular traffic from Church Street to Chester Avenue so that walkers can enjoy a leisurely pace and visit with the people and places that make their town special.

Stores and offices will greet visitors with hot cider, cookies and other treats. At various sites along Main Street, musical groups will provide a lively soundtrack for the evening and street entertainment will include face painters, a magician, stiltwalker and balloon artist.

Candlelight Night is sponsored this year by Moorestown Friends School at the Gold Level and Cornerstone Bank at the Silver Level. The MBA event committee includes Brian Cooper of Foundation Title, Jay Winkler of Idea Lab, Helen Davies-Miramontes of Prudential Fox & Roach Realtors, Joe Horwitz of New York Life Insurance, Don Powell of Powell Energy and Solar and Wayne Urffer of the Recycled Designer.
