• A salute for new soldiers: Camden County high school graduates who choose to enlist in the Armed Forces will be honored at a High School Enlistee Recognition Ceremony at The Mansion June 2.
• ‘A method to the madness’: Competitive eater Dave Goldstein sets his sites on the top eating contest in the land, the annual Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest on July 4 in Coney Island. The International Federation of Competitive Eating currently ranks him 28th best competitive eater in the world.
• Proud to accept Town Center Award (Mayor’s Message): The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission named the Voorhees Town Center winner of the 2009 Regional Land Use Project of the Year. The ceremony was part of the Eighth Annual Celebration of Regional Excellence at the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia on May 14.
